He is. Out scavenging for food. Trying to climb the plants to get out and going........TIMBER.. and then trying it all over again. He is very curious. If I put something new in the tank he has to go investigate.

Yes, if you get your hand right in front of his pincers and it feels that it doesn't have a way to escape. But for the most part they are afraid of your hands and try to get away.
