'fuge size?

what's a minimal size refugium for a 55 gal tank? i know bigger is better, but i'm kind of pinched for room right now. what's a good rule of thumb for these...if there are any?

i would say aq 110 because aq 70 is too small to stick your hands in there

any size refugium is better than none but you need to know the reason for wanting a fuge. if it is for pod population than it doesn't need to be very big. if it is for nutrient reduction than go as big as you can. i have a 30 gal sump/fuge on my 55. the fuge side is about 8 gallons.

i'm mostly looking for nitrate reduction, with some sand, rubble, cheato, etc. so i suppose that the ones made from aqua clear hob's are not worth it? way too small?
