Full grown angelfish + ???

I went back to the LFS with the intention of buying one of the gold severums, but a different employee steered me towards some of the blue gouramis which just happened to be on sale and 4 for the price of 3, so I got a quad of those. :)

Nice LFS. They sold you four male gouramis that will probably fight quite alot. Hope they are the dwarf gouramis since the larger species get anywhere from 5 to ten inches long and sometimes become extremely aggresive. If I were you, I would stop basing your purchases on how much the fish cost and start doing some research. Good luck with your gourami bloodbath. I'd go get some melafix if I were you.

Beatle, Mooman has a point. I have 2 male powder blue gouramis in a 180g, and 1 has started to be aggressive toward the other. 4 in a 29g will not be pretty.

EDIT: And do you know how large your common pleco will get? Mine is 16+ inches in less that 2 years. You should return him as well, ASAP.

Yah even dwarf gourami's will fight if you have to many. They are pretty aggressive. Most stores don't sell females. I think thats the only way you can keep multiples together in smaller tanks.

Whatever you say, buddy.

Hey, I don't know what you want me to say. I've taken the time over the last week to give you extensive advise, and to date you've taken none of it (waste of my time). Worse, you go out and purchase a bunch of incompatible fish that you haven't taken the time to research just because some LFS employee tells you they're on sale.

But hey, nobody made you sign a contract promising to take the advice generated by this forum, so good luck. No hard feelings, but if I were you, I would pick the nicest of the four gouramis and take the rest back.

Yes breeding angels are very cool, yet hard to get. 40years ago my dad got 2 and they paired off immidately and spawned like crazy, but only 1 fish ever survived only to get eaten by a parent.( he put a slate in the tank the layed eggs he took the slate out and set up a new tank w/ a heater.)Do not take and info from this I just thought it would be interesting.

angels

silvers got a go. U can get more catfish or sharks like bala sharks or pangasius catfish. But they might stress the angels since the angels will have to move out of the way when the sharks are swiming. Id say id buy swordtails its a risk but some tetras only. I hope it helps.

yer guaramies fight all the time they tend to all gang up on the weakest and when he dies, they all gang up on the next weakest and so on
