The plantscaping seems to work well to suit everyone in the tank. I love densely planted tanks, but if I did that, I'd have to cut back drastically on the number of discus I could keep. So there's nothing too tall to take away swimming room from the discus, open areas around the sides, front and down the middle for discus foraging, lots of lower, thicker plants for the rummies and cories and bristlenose to retreat, forage, play. The discus can still pick food out of the short crypts in the front. And behind the driftwood on the left it's a thick planting of crypts that goes back to the glass as an additional retreat for the smaller fish. The discus don't get thru that area at all. But they can swim over top of it.
