Fungus on my Goldfish?

OK, the other day I posted about my Koi losing scales (that hasn't gotten worse or better), now today I just noticed one of my fancies has a light white dust on his head between his eyes. It's barely noticeable. He also appears to have a very light sprinkling of it on his tail. I can only see it when he's right under the light.

Could this be a fungal infection? If so, what do I do?

This is a brand new 55gal tank, new everything. No natural plants, nothing came from other tanks except the fish. All the fish have only been here for less than 7 days. I'd ask the LFS, but they are 70mi away.

Water temp is 74deg. Ammonia looks like it's just under .25, PH is 6.8, Nitrates and Nitrites are 0. I've kept a logbook and daily tests haven't deviated from those numbers except the temp rose from 70 to 74 over the week. The only thing added to the water is Aquasafe on initial startup and added to the daily 5gal PWC, and StressZyme added on Monday. (I did try Stresscoat Wednesday and Thursday added to the PWC when I noticed the Koi's injury, but I went back to Aquasafe after reading about the Aloe added to it).

WELL, Im guessing that your have your koi in an aquarium, not a pond. Is that right?

well, koi dont fare so well in smaller aquariums and really do better in tanks of 1000 gallons +.

To answer your goldfish question, your goldie doesn't have a fungal infection. more likely it has either velvet or ich.

Does it look like this? If so, its velvet.

Yes, I think someone has told me about the Koi every time I post. I didn't know Koi got big when I bought him. He's only 2 or 3" now. He'll go in the pond when he gets a little bigger.

Hard to see that pic. What's on my Goldie looks just like a light dusting of fine powdered sugar like you'd see sprinkled on those fancy pastries.

Edit: After looking at this link I think it may be Velvet:
finer than ich, more similiar to the consistency of talc
http://www.fishpalace.org/Disease.html#Velvet

So what's the best way to treat that? :(

I would do a large water change, remove carbon and treat with Quick Cure.

Well, I did some searching here and Googled. Found these two links that seemed to explain things pretty well:

http://freshaquarium.about.com/cs/disease/p/velvet.htm

A friend at work showed me a LFS over there. They hooked me up with some stuff called Coppersafe, said it did the trick for Velvet parasite infections in their tanks.

I did a daily PWC, took the charcoal pad out of my Ecco, treated with Coppersafe, shaded the windows and turned out the tank lights. I guess I need to keep adding the Coppersafe to my water changes for a month.

Should I add some salt to the water too? One of the links said it would help the gills.

Anything else?
