I noticed on one of my discus at the tip of one of his dorsal spikes a white nugget, could this be fungus? I also noticed on another discus he has a white pimple on his side where he had an injury recently. The difference between the two is the one with it on his side looks like a pimple. neither look fuzzy though. Any suggestions?
Sounds more like a bacterial infection on your damaged discus. Could also just be a little scar tissue where it's still healing. Can you get us some clear pictures of the problems?
I've noticed this before on mine. Same place. Top of the fin....really threw me for a loop. Still ate everything put in front of them, postured for food etc... Went on a W/C spree, and it was gone.
I've also had the mysterious phantom pimple on the side of my fish as well. In my opinion, it's just discus. When they get stressed (after huge water changes, moving tanks etc..) they seem to get the little white pimple. It goes away when they calm down.
