I just got a baby Fuzzy Dwarf Lion and have a question about food. He is eating well, loves guppies and I have gotten him to start taking interest in frozen food. I have read how bad goldfish are for these guys and was wondering if the guppies are also a bad choice. Because he is eating other frozen and fresh sea foods it is not a matter of they are the only thing he will eat but he seems to enjoy them so much. So is it ok too give him a guppy every now and then or is it better to keep him off of them all together?

Welcome to Aquaria Central! It is better to keep them off them for good. Freshwater and Brackish fish have 20 percent more fat than your average saltwater fish. This drastic increase in fat can not be digested and stores itself in the liver causing Fatty Liver Disease which drastically reduces the fishes life span along with enlarging the liver to the point it crushes all surrounding vital organs and the fish dies a slow and very painful death. It is the equivalent to having a human eat at McDonalds the rest of their lives. Not good and short. If he is eating frozen it is best to keep him on that. If you want to feed live foods just for fun feed some Ghost Shrimp. Invertebrates (in paticular shrimp) are Lions natural food source so it is best to feed this rather than guppies. Anyway, hope this helps and good luck.
