FW: 10g is reborn....

lol sure am loving it, so cool to see the shrimps fly across the tank. I also added the 2 ramshorns you gave me, so they are enjoying the space also.
For now ill let it be, will check how the growth goes after a week. If its good and the hc is staying low then ill just leave it be, if theres no growth/dead plants or the hc is getting very tall then i will maybe consider adding another 14w.
what happened to the 20 ramshorns i sent you?

lol ADA... but without the crazy expensive supplies..

Hahaha. That's my working philosophy as well. But sometimes you just have to go ADA (soils) But even now, there are a lot of good alternatives on the market out here in Japan that grow plants just as well.

I love seeing this. This is my favorite part of the hobby. I just did this last night. Also went for simple 2 to 3 plant types. No stems and no more riccia.

Thanks.

PS: Notice you added riccia. I used to love the stuff, but after two years of it I had enough. If you search some of my older pic posts you'll see the stuff can be nice. But after while it just gets out of hand.

lol thanks for the kind words.
Aqua soil normally is already more pricey than flourite/eco, plus shipping wouldve destroyed me. This being my first simple setup i guess im going to learn plenty from trial and error. At the moment its sms topped with regular gravel, I have noticed that one patch of hc that i planted in the front did extend the roots a bit but i can be imaging.
I have read actually a thread on another board of people who hate riccia, they complain how fast it grows and how PITA it is to maintain it without clogging up filter or having it float around the tank.. I havent experienced that yet but sure that day will come, I am still waiting to see that nice amount of bubbles come out of it.. but i think i got high hopes since with only 3wpg and diy co2 not sure if that will happen lol

I will be sure to check out your setup, maybe will get some ideas.
I got so into the whole nano thing that im thinking of getting myself a 1g cube and making some amazing scape. Will see what the next day brings.

Thanks

hahaha, i've had that happen to me. i couldn't keep duckweed alive no matter what but riccia was a whole nother story

nice job BK.. its looking real nice.. cant wait to see the progress in a month..
