GREAT tank!
But why do you want to change the gravel? I have black in two of my tanks and I hate it.

The main reason why im switching to black gravel is
All my fish look more colorful with the darker substrate. You should pick out that colorful gravel and it will improve the look a bit 2. Also i think my black gravel is smaller than yours but not sure.

The plants look good and the fish look better

Java Fern Windelov
Xingu Sword
Rotala green
Egeria
At the moment im just placing plants where theres room and enough light for them, cant organize much in a 10g for now. Will just let them grow out for another week and then the organizing will start.

There is a stargate in my aquarium.
it was a regular 20" incandescent fixture, I just replaced the bulbs with 2 CF daylight 14W each.
