FW blue shrimp

Very nice, Q.

I think those are blueberry/blackberrry shrimp. They are imported from China. Most often you get all females, so unless they are berried when you bought them, its possible they won't reproduce for you. They are a caridina species and I am pretty sure they are Malaya shrimp. The offspring don't get the opacity that the store bought adults do, its uncertain whether they have been dyed or not. They are really really lovely though. I have some and they are super fun to watch eat and the juveniles grow QUITE rapidly. Good luck with them, they are a nice addition!

I lost the one with 2 missing legs when they molted last night.

Oooo... those are cool. I wish I could keep shrimp in my planted tank. My Topminnow killies would just make a snack of them. It didn't take them long to wipe out 20 ghost shrimp. lol
