FW fish in BW

REAL brackish water with marine salt will kill nearly any FW fish you try to keep long term in those conditions. The only FW fish I would suggest keeping in BW are mollies, and guppies which are naturally brackish anyway.

To my knowledge many freshwater fish like low pH water with low dissolved solid content. Brackish water would hurt them. Fish like African Cichlids and mollies which are generally sold as freshwater would probably do okay in more brackish setup.

They may like the hard water, but the marine salt used to make water "brackish" would definately kill them. Mollies are naturally Brackish water fish, they live longer, show more colouring and are much hardier in BW. Putting a fish into any conditions that aren't natural to them is seriously jeopardizing thier immune system and ability to thrive. If you do so you should not expect the fish to last very long.
