FW Gobies...

I was wondering if anyone had had any experience with FW Gobies or BW Gobies that were conditioned to FW. I saw one at the fish store last week, really liked it, but forgot to ask the store owner about it. How easy are they to care for and are they at all community friendly?

The only 'freshwater' gobie I have worked with is Tateurndina ocellicauda (Peacock Gudgeon) Breeds easily in home aquaria and is an excellent community fish. PS: It is the prettiest of all gobies IMHO. http://members.aol.com/WnyZman/pgudgeon.html

Are they truly a freshwater fish, or adaptable to freshwater, and prefer a bit of salt?

I am assuming that if it breeds easy, than it must be a hardy and easy to keep fish right?

I going to look these guys up.

It is a frestwater fish. Actually they like it a little on the soft side for breeding but not always necessary.

but for just keeping them, harder water is fine though right? like a ph of 7.something

I have a colony of peacock gudgeons, and really like them. They are small, colorful, and easy to keep. Mine have spawned twice so far in hard water with a ph of 7.6. The first batch of eggs didn't survive the move though, and I am waiting on the eggs from the latest spawning.
