Surprisingly enough, I have a very high pH as well. Its almost 8 from my source water. I have a huge piece of malaysian driftwood that leaches strongly into the water and some peat under my substrate which has the pH sitting at about 7.4. They are reproducing, but in lower numbers. I am considering adding more peat to the filter, or changing out my substrate for ada soil to reduce the pH further. But the adults are doing great, and I do have some babies.

Wow, that's awesome, I've always been a fan of them. As long as it doesn't hurt their lifespan I know what I'm getting. I can't change the PH because it's ideal for the current inhabitants (7.5-7.6).
