I have 2 fancies in my pond ATM, I need to bring them in but my mom will not let me set up another tank or large bucket w/ filters for them.
I saved these two from a bowl(thankfully they weren't in there long enough to stunt), and I made plans for them during the colder months, but the lady who said she would house them in her empty 55g backed out a couple of days ago.

I know it is not a good thing at all because of the water temp difference.. and the amount of waste they produce, but could I keep them in my 55g?
It has 1 pair of angels
1 pair of rams
3 mollies
8 rummy nose tetras and 10 kuhli loaches.

I would be willing to do alot more WC's than my normaly 1x a week.

The temp is about 77*
The fancies are oranda and ryukin..

This is the only thing I can do, unless I give them to my LFS, but they are so pretty I'm sure someone would love to buy them for their kids fish bowl :lipssealedsmilie:

I would end up putting them in the 55 after nagging and nagging and nagging about setting up a bin from walmart for like $15, with a hang on filter on it, simple, because I wouldnt be able to give them to my lfs not knowing who would get them. Exactly what kind of goldfish? You could get a heater for the pond to keep it a decent temp so it doesn't freeze over.

And oranda and a ryukin.

I asked about a heater.. she looked at the prices and about died lol

They're both(excluding tails) around 3", it's hard to tell with my green water XP.

She was talking about the electricity it would use.. even if it's no worse than running the filter there is no way to argue with her

I would think it woulod be safe but you must be cautious though, as they grow, they may tend to have a taste for those smaller fish of yours. I would up the water changes to 2 a week. I am saying this in thought that hopefully you can get another tank for them in the future because they really do not belong in the tank with those fish, especially the angels. But watch them. Now if you see them behaving ill toward the Angels, what are you prepared to do?

Well, if I notice them getting picked on by anyone, I will have no choice but to give them to my LFS, the only other thing I could do is put them in an unfiltered 7g bucket

Like I said, I do not want to put them in this tank, but I have no other option, I made a commitment to them when I 'adopted' them.

I HAD plans for them, but the lady backed out; I just spoke with her and said I'D take care of the cleaning, feeding ect.
Still no :/

you live in virginia? your pond should be fine through the winter.. is it in the ground or above the ground?

My water was 54*-55* this morning and my ryukin was on her side on the corner of the pond.
I'm acclimating them now, the angels are much more interested in the baby guppies I just dropped in than the goldies.
The ryukin still doesn't look good, they've been drip-acclimating for about an hour now.
