i heard reports of them poping up all around the country. know of a few stores around cali with them. some people have been paying $10 a fish and others up to $20 a fish. one person said they came from a florida wholesalers.

"It is thought that they will only reach a couple of centimetres or so at adult and they are definately a highly active and shoaling species. It is important that Galaxy rasboras have clean, well filtered water that is soft and acidic. We keep ours at a pH of 6.4 and at approximately 10dH. They have very small mouths and will require small food items such as daphnia, baby brine shrimp or small tubifex worms. With time they may be weaned onto fine dried foods such as flake or crushed pellets."

There's a store that sells them for $12 each, another for $11 (but lowers it if you know the password to $7)
Just got in a batch today...and despite shipping and taxes to bring them into Canada, we can still retail them for $9.99 each and make a reasonable profit.
They were only just discovered last year apparently. They've already made it here to New Zealand :thud: where the aquarium hobby is very limited due to lack of variety on all fronts:sad: . Hopefully the price will drop over the year and I'll be able to afford some. I guess I could always cash in my birthday and christmas gifts
Yeah, they're a new fish, but they're proving to be realtively easy to breed/raise, so within the next year you should see widespread availability. None of the LFS in my area have them, but I know atleast one major private breeder that has some going.
