Gamma vs Turbo Twist vs Lifegard UV Sterilizer

Also got a pair of GKM-like in-tank 9w. units to move around and they work fabulously. Put one in a lightly planted 52g. and the water was beautifully polished within the first 24 hrs. Put one in a 55g. with similar results. I'm thinkin' Gunner was right and I could probably get the same results dropping one of these in a tank as big as a 210. This isn't my main filtration, just an adjunct, so who cares if it takes 2 hrs. to turn the tank over as long as it kills everything that it's supposed to kill. It's not like you're constantly introducing new pathogens every hour of every day.

Even though the GKM look-a-likes were the most expensive in terms of dollars per watt, for sheer simplicity, effectiveness and portability they're great so far.

Incidentally FYI, all of the electronics the transformer, connection box, and power head are all identical it only the 9W or 24W bulbs that are different so if you ever decide to scale up to a 24W bulb or scale down to a 9W bulb it works fine. In fact your better off buying the 9W setup and an extra 24W bulb for the same price as a 24W setup.
Ooops! Guess what folks I just got my order in and that factory has apparently made changes, guess they must have gotten wise to that fact that people like me were buying the 9W GKM to interchange the more powerful 24W bulb. As soon as I opened the box I noticed the transformer and the control box are now smaller on the 9W and in fact the power rating is also lower. Ok for me as this was for my 60 tank anyway and the extra 24W bulb can just be a replacement for one of my other 24W units.

Anyway belay my last and buy the GLM becasue its a great UV setup 9w or 24W but don't buy them with the expectation of mixing parts because they have all changed in the 9W model even the pump is smaller!!!!
