Garden hoses...potable

Most hoses have the universal "garden" type fitting on the end. That one looks like it does.
Those particular hoses are great for potable water as you may well know already - so you dont have to worry so much about leaching.

I know camping and outdoor stores have them as well as the camper/trailer supply stores. Home Depot doesnt. Ace may have the best price. I'm going to change mine over to that type soon.

I bought this exact hose for my water changing system. It has standard garden hose fittings. I've been using it for several months to fill my tanks without any problems at all.

I do wcs on a lot of tanks and have for years. I use a regular old garden hose and have yet to have any problems doing so.

Any good quality garden hose is perfectly fine to use.

Yes, I suspected this was the case when I built my system (pre-heated water in a 35-gallon, food-grade barrel), but some posters have mentioned problems from leaching chemicals in the plastic. So I figured, why take the chance?

I use the Ace hose in a couple of places, and another potable-grade, coiled hose to actually reach to the tanks.

I think the only time you might have trouble with the standard hose is if you let the water sit in it for a long time...but even then, if you are adding water to a larger aquarium it would be diluted.
