OK, i have a garden out front of my house. I hesistate to call it a garden, its mostly stuff we cant kill. Here is a list of plants in the garden.

Stuff we planted:
Catmint
Bannanna Leaf tree
Large purple flowering plant
Iruses (never flowered)
Strawberries
Onions
Small bulbs
Daffidils
Those flowers that you always get on easter, some we planted some the old lady who used to live here
Ivy (ima dumbass)
small white flowers

Stuff that showed up later:
wild onions
pumpkins
those flowers you see around holloween
poison Oak
small purple flowers with round leaves
some kind of ornemental grass (its got purple on the uppe parts)
mini-strawberries (unedible)
purple flower weeds
dandilions
corn
Some kind of branching thing that has just one main trunk, looks like those yellow flowering bushes without flowers


Stuff we want dead(out of both lists) :

PLZ HELP ME B4 MY GARDEN BECOMES A DISASTER AREA!

I cant kill the bannanna leaf tree, turns out its invasive and one of those trees that die in winter and come back in summer, i broke a wooden shuvel trying to dig it up, and nearly broke a plastice one, we may be getting a backho, cept that the tree is right next to the house.

I have given up on the ivy, its to smart for me...

The branches with leave are really hard to pull up, in fact i haven't done it yet. It would help if i knew WTF it was. Can anyone ID without pics?

The mini strawberries are probably "mock strawberies". if the berry grows on top of the cap/stem it is "mock", if it grows under the cap it is a true straawberry. The roots on the mock SB are not very deep so they are easy to pull up but they are pretty prolific so it will take dedication, as is the case with all of the "weeds".
The little purple flowers with round leaves; if they are blooming now they are most likely wild violets - hard to tell w/out pics.

If you let the onion plants flower, they will throw seeds everywhere and you will have lots of "volunteers" popping up. It is best to pull them/pinch off the blooms before they flower if you do not want them everywhere.

The "Easter" flowers are Easter lilies. pretty and smell good too!
The ones that show around Halloween are typically mums or asters but it is hard to tell without a pic.

The Ivy is pretty hard to erradicate but if you keep at it, eventually you will win.

Sounds like you have a good habitat for birds and wildlife.

oh, and if you have a bird feeder, that is where alot of plant volunteers come from (typically dropped by the birds), especially things like corn and sunflowers. Best bet is to stay on top of the weeding before they put in a good root system....

OK thanks, i dont have a Bird Feeder, but my house had power lines above it so thats where the seeds come from. The MS control the entire side of my house, in between the mini allyway and the sidewalk to the trashcans. the corn prob cam from last hooloween now i think on it. The ivy will need to contend with the shade from the bannanna tree and with the irises. I guess it creates a wildlife place, but i dont think a lot of critters live there.

You may be able to kill the banana tree by drilling several holes in the trunk, then filling the holes with salt. I've used this method to kill voluntary mulberry saplings. Also, your irises won't bloom if their in the shade or if they weren't properly fertilized the year before. (You fertilize this year for next year's blooms.) And the flower that blooms around Halloween may be a Mum.

ill try to post some pics, if i can get my camera working. If irises need fertilizer to bloom then that explains why they have never bloomed lol. No i need some fertilizer. The bannanna leaf tree has been there for about 3-4 years now. Im worried that if i kill it the roots will come back and cover the entire garden... The purple flowers do seem to be mums.
