well, it will increase the salt (salinity) of the tank slightly, increase your ph, add some preservatives, and a bunch of sugar.

IMHO, few water changes and you will be fine. but if you said that there was just alittle bit. i wouldnt bother doing anything besides the 50% water change you already did.

if it really was only a tiny bit, then it wont really have any measurable effect on pH, salinity, or sugar content...
 
there will always be someone here who's had the exact same thing happen before... only much worse

That's nothing- I once dropped a primed hand grenade in my tank... did a 50% water change and everything turned out OK!

OK... I know I had you all fooled- but I made that up.
 
I was just thinking that. I can't help but laugh at some of these stories, but I'm glad everything worked out OK :)

kind of reminds me of this time my cousin put butter into his slushie at the movie theatre, he even made sure the butter was perfectly distributed all around it

LOL that is something I would do! I always do stupid stuff like that. I daydream a lot! 2 weeks after I got married my husband found the cereal in the fridge, and the milk in the cupboard. Oh hunny, I didn't tell you that I was an airhead before we got married? Opps!
