Considering selling/trading my proven pair of Bolivian Rams. I do not seem to have the talent or experience to have successful spawns; (inappropriate tank space/mates). They are more than willing to spawn every month and appear to be very good parents but due to my own inadequacies, it has not worked out. They deserve better......The female is very special to me (the male is an F1) and I will only consider a very good home that has the appropriate set up for them. Would prefer local/nearby pick up (Western NC Area) as I have never shipped fish before.....

Oh Noodles! Are you sure you want to get rid of them?
Yes, I cannot do them justice and I want them to be successful parents. The female, "Daisy Mae" is dear to me and she really needs to be a successful mommy......

bump for being a bolivian ram owner! I would be all over this if you were local to me, im dying for 2 bolivs.

Thanks for the bump - they are a proven pair....I will drive some distance for delivery, but would prefer not to ship.......

I feel for you, I know how much they mean to you. IF you do not get anyone local and feel comfortable to ship, I will put them in my 110 with my 4. With rams it takes them a while to get it right. They are learning, just as you are. Sometimes it has to do with water hardness - it has to be soft for the eggs and fry to develop.

noodles62, whats wrong with your setup ?

I just do not have the tank space for them. First spawn, they were in a community tank and all the fry got eaten; second spawn they are in a tank w/ shrimp and within 3 days all the eggs were gone---I think the shrimp really loved them. She had a hard time keeping them away at night. :swear:
I am not sure what my water hardness is, I do not have a test for the KH; my PH is low - 6.4.....I just want the best conditions for them.

Snoopy, I will keep your offer to take them in mind. I know you would give them a wonderful home..... :)

Here is a bump and a pic of the pair....
