My GBR was swimming around like normal and then just now it went straight to the bottom and laid on it's side like it's about to die. I haven't noticed any strange behavior lately or noticed it looking sick or anything. Anyone have any ideas?

Can you give some background info on the GBR and your tank's water parameters please?

Best Regards,
Patrick

Bought it about a month ago from the LFS and it's been acting fine since I got him. Tank parameters are PH 7.2, KH 3 and GH 4. I keep the temp at 78. The tank is heavily planted with live plants and there are shrimp, snails and other fish in there. It's been set up for a few years and everything else is fine.

What are your ammonia, nitrate and nitrite levels?

What time of the day did it go to the bottom and lay on its side? all 3 of mine in the evening will head to the bottom, lose their color, and barely move until morning.

I am about to test everything. The fish is dead though. Can't even find him. I'm going to assume that the amano's and snails go to him.

It was evening time, but mine has never done what you mentioned yours doing.

I'm going to test my water parameters for piece of mind, but I'm going to chalk it up as bad stock.
