German Blue Rams and cory's not getting along.

It's 36" x 12" x 17-18", so that makes it a 30. Was thinking maybe some hatchetfish instead of cardinal tetras? I want the tank filled out. I don't know, what do you think? Thanks for your constant help, btw, you're a godsend.

Or what if I got an angelfish and then had this in the tank:

2 x GBR
8 x Harlequin Rasbora
1 x Angelfish

Is that ok or am I dreaming here with a 30g? Thanks again for any help...

EDIT: Actually, I don't think I'd want to get an angel, since it's also a cichlid and I just sense there being a problem between it an the Rams. I want to nix the cory cats and replace them with something else. Ideas??

This is concrete:

8 x Harlequin Rasbora
2 x GBR
What next????????

Build my tank! :)

I think I'm going to go with the hatchets. What do you guys like better, silver, or marbled?

It's your tank, not mine ;)

Very true... Thank you for knocking some sense into me! :grinyes:

After I have it fully stocked I'm going to try and add about an inch or two more of sand at the bottom (currently only around 1 inch), and buy a light to hopefully start with some live plants! My dream is to have a tank with beautiful aquascaping that you see on sites like these. One day...

Will Marbled hatchets and silver hatchets school together and get along or am I asking for problems? I can't find anything on google.

Usually, fish of similar shapes will school together, though similar coloration/patterning is also a strong indicator. Even if you had both types though, they shouldn't fight or anything, so the worst it'd be is you would have 2 separate, small schools of hatchets.

There's no reason you can't start planting now, if you'd like to. As the planting gets denser, the fish's territoriality will seemingly go down simply because their line of vision is broken up and it's hard to give a good chase if you can't see the "enemy," haha.

Rasboras and tetras tend to go well with cichlids, in my experience. They're fast enough to get away, smart enough to stay away. Cories are just plain adorable... and a little bit dopey when it comes to learning. Heh.
