I believe its a spotted Hillstream...the LFS doesn't carry them much...These guys were fighting each other for space in the tank when I got mine a few months ago.

Nice. I picked up 50 of pool filter sand at aces for cheap. Works great so far. I hope the play sand works out well. Are you planning to run 2 filters or one? I run 2 on my tank. A canister and a HOB. I use the output of the canister to push fish poo towards the intake tube of my HOB. IMO, if your going to run HOBs with sand, you should try to keep the water levels close to the output so it doesnt move the sand around and create a sandstorm in the tank.

I will be using one HOB for now and get another later on. I normally keep the water level high on my tanks.

I'm stocking up on everything I need before I get the tank so I'm ready... I have a blue tub.. so I can cycle the filter before I get the tank. I think that's a good idea...
I'm using paint to come up with ideas for the decor, I will post the finished blueprint kind of thing. May order some nano trees from Bob's Tropical Plants when I have some money saved up.

It's not fun using MS Paint on a laptop without a mouse. XD Like what is says.. its only a rough sketch/idea. I may change in due time.

Candy cane tetras?? What are those? I wish you luck with the play sand, I had that in my 2 55 gallons before and loathed the stuff with a passion. Barely touch it and it clouded the water. Switched it out with aquaquartz pool filter sand from ace, love that stuff! Used it many times since and never rinse it either! Edit: found the candy cane tetras, but nothing about adult size. How big do they get?
