so ive decided i want to get a new tank. im starting a new job and will have extra income. im thinking either getting another 20L for my current set up so have 2 20L vs a 20L and a 10 like i have now. or maybe get about a 30gallon and a stand. maybe a 30 breeder or a 26g bow front. anyway im looking for imput. so should i go for a second 20 Long which would be heaper since i wont need a new stand for it. or should i get a larger stand alone aquarium? input please :)

I say the bigger the better. Have more options with fish to keep and can have more of them. Unless I have a small species only tank I could never go below 55g again

I say stay with 20 long. It's cheaper and lighter to deal with. The 20L bottom foot print is about the same size as 30-40tall. Most fishes don't really swim up. Plus you don't need the stand.

But if you are going to go bigger. You might as well get 40breeder or 55 tank.

yeah im kinda looking at trying new things, i also just thought that i really want a tank where my bookcase is onow so i can watch it from bed. but i realized if i get a 30g to get there it would be cool or if i get a second 20 long i can get a stand for a 10g and put it there. so both are tempting, hmm. now i kinda wanna get the 20l and do a 10g bumble bee goby tank. or if i get the 30 could i maybe do angels? like 1 pair?.

I have a pair of angels in a 30. They are doing well, and spawn constantly. That said, I don't feel like it is ideal for them, and I do WCs every three days. I don't think it it's necessary, but it helps. Plus the tank it's next to a window over a flower bed, so I water that at the same time..

A 30 is not tall enough for angels. They really need the height of a 29
