getting fish delivered?

I've heard liveaquaria is a good place :) (www.liveaquaria.com) I'm gearing up for an order from there. I've heard they have great customer service :) Good luck and welcome!

I forget to add there's always aquabid (www.aquabid.com) It's a hit or miss. Can find some interesting things there though...

It's basically super-expensive overnight shipping. Expect to pay upwards of $40 for shipping (I believe liveaquaria.com charges $34.99 for their shipping), even if you only buy one tiny little Cardinal Tetra.

Buying online is only really worth it if you're buying in bulk or when you are desperate for a particular breed that you can't find locally and your LFS won't order it for you.

It's personal choice. Some people don't mind the $35 shipping, and some people do. I like to see my fish before I buy them, though, to see if I get the pick of the litter. I did just buy a breeding pair of Peacock Gudgeons from Aquabid, though, and piad out the nose for shipping, but it was a proven pair an certainly worth it to me.

If it's worth it to you, then go for it.

check the classified ads here on the forum, we have a lot of great breeders and you know your going to get quality fish at great prices and shipping wont kill ya either

I just received some L260 plecos from snook21 in Fla. I'm in Mass, and the shipping was only $39 for overnite. The fish are awesome, by the way !! I have ordered most of the 100+ fish that I have online. Its the only alternative to the 2 local fish stores here (Petco/Smart, and not the greatest for selection) Good luck.

I have gotten the majority of my fish and inverts online. Express shipping is usually $40 or up. To get quality stock from a hobbyist/breeder for me is worth it over buying weakened overpriced stock at the poor local big box stores that are around me. ALot of things like plants and inverts can be shipped priority which is very reasonable.

I have had discus sent from Cali to Ny.Not a problem at all.But shipping is 60-75 dollars. But if you spending three to five hundred on fish its worth it.They are sent out in the afternoon and I get them the next day by 10 am.Experience packing fish is the difference as well as overnight shipping.
