Have you measured out what tanks will fit in there together? Was it set up as a fish room with a large stand holding multiple tanks or each tank with an individual stand? I could see it happening if several tanks go on one stand (shelf thingy).

I could be wrong about the cost of auto water changing systems.
:footinmouth:
but dont they require you to still clean the substrate?

yeah i would still clean the subsrate, and theres stands built for multi tanks, and stands for seperate tanks and stands for one tanks. all tanks have stands :) going to be a loong cleaning weekend.. going to either have one or two tank in my living room ( have a 55 and 10 already in my living room ) i am thinking maybe a 30 or somthing in my living room along with the 55 and 10, but rest in my bedroom/fish room :)

or i may sell my curent 55 ( holds water but resealed by the ex owner and they did a messy reseal job ) for 55. and use the stand the tank is on ( 75 gallon stand ) for four or three 20 gallons and put them on the stand vertical.

Sounds like a plan if all of the tanks are in good shape.

It shouldnt take TOO long, just turn on that sound system you have and listen to music while cleaning. The only reason it takes me longer when I do that is because I have to select the songs I want to play.

Btw, how are you getting all of the stuff to your apartment? Does your friend have a truck or are you renting one?

Good luck! But I think you may have to store or sell of a few of those tanks. Fish rooms of that size normally get put in a 2 car garage or similar sized room. My bedroom looks to be about the same size and I would fit maybe 15 20g tanks in here comfortably. Could do 3 55g tanks pretty well in here.

yeah, when i get the tanks, going to have to redo some stuff. may only beable to have two 55s in there. not going to sleep in there ( sleep on the couch, next to my 55 in the living room ) so thats going to be turned into a total fish room :)

Yeah, but a fish room with less tanks and room to move and easily clean and enjoy looking at the fish in is a better one (IMO) than one that is full of tanks but you can hardly walk into.

first floor. and theres stands included, but these tanks will be in my bedroom ( i sleep in the living room ) so need help with creating somthing like a automatic water changer and stuff like that.. soo happpy!!!

Hello- first of all, congrats on the new tanks! Ok, I see here that you are on the first floor. That is potentially good. Do you know for certain that you are on a concrete slab foundation, and not a crawlspace or basement? My apartment, way back in the day, was on the ground floor, but, there was a partial basement and partial crawl underneath. You will definitely need a concrete slab to support that kind of weight. If you're renting, you also may want to check with the land lord to make sure that they won't have a melt down with that many tanks in an apartment- some won't even let people have water beds, due to the potential water damage if they break. Definitely not trying to rain all over your parade, just some things you may want to look into as part of the planning phase. Again, congrats, and I look forward to seeing pics, once you have everything up & running.

haha true! may have two 55s in the living room, and two 55s in the bedrooms. along with about five 20s two 40B two 30s one 45 with the hex in the living room anda few 10s scattered about. but about 10 tanks in my bedroom/fish room should do! :)
