Getting new fish for my birthday!!!

Ok. It'd probably be a few hours after, to give the prime 24 hours, but I added safestart like 2 weeks ago too after my cat unplugged my filter, so I'm not super worried, it's just a precaution more than anything.

Me too! I'll be sure to post lots of pictures. :)

OMG, I just made my gel food. That gelatin was a FREAKING NIGHTMARE. I had to add like 16 packets of gelatin, by the time they were all in the water, it turned into this huge lump and only like 4 packets worth that were usable and I had 6 packets leftover from what I bought that I added straight to my puree and then strained out what liquid jello I could from the pot. And my pot is ruined. :(

....I don't think I did it right. Hopefully it turns out ok. :/

On the brightside, fish get here in less than 12 hours!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

Oh, and I ruined my favorite PJ's with some puree splatter.....PLEEEEEEEEEEASE wash out!

The fish better like this stuff, and it better stinkin solidify. *Grumblegrumble.*

THE FISH ARE HEREEEEEE!!!!! THE FISH ARE HERE THE FISH ARE HERE THE FISH ARE HERE! They survived shipping, and their bag is floating. Pictures soon. They are soooooooo cute you guys!!!!! :D

Ok, so the fish were just let out of their bag. They bottom sat for a few minutes, but are just starting to explore. Poor Sammi and Batman don't know WHAT to do! LOL. They go about their business, but as soon as they see one of the new guys, they swim away! The ranchu seems to have taken a liking to Batman...he keeps following him around the tank! And then, when batman realizes he's behind him, he freaks out and swims away, with the ranchu still trailing behind. Looks like I'll have some follow the leader going, since Batman always follows Sammi. The ranchu seems to be doing just fine, and is exploring, though still a little shy. The pearlscale is waddling around a little, but is breathing a little heavily...though I would too if I had to carry that balloon of a body around. I don't think he can get off the bottom more than maybe an inch. He's definitely going to have some buoyancy issues I think. He sure is a cute little fella though! The ranchu goes to check on him every now and then, it's kinda cute. He's keeping him company right now as the pearlscale is trying to figure out how to get over the grass plants I have. AWWWWW. Anyways, here's some pictures....they aren't very good, I still have the lights off while they're adjusting, but here's some initial pictures!

Ok, thought they were ready for the lights, they were swimming pretty happily, but the ranchu dove into a plant, and the pearlscale looked like a deer in headlights. Snagged a couple pics super fast though before I turned them off. The pearlscale picked the one place I couldn't get a clear shot of it, so sorry!

Names have been decided: The pearlscale is Bowser, and the ranchu is Sully. :)

AWWWWW!!!! Look at those little cuties! They're ADORABLE!!! I have some tips on the jello- PM me if the stuff you made is not useable. Soak whatever it splattered on in white vinegar for a couple of hours, and then wash it in HOT water. It will come right out.

It came out ok actually! No one was hungry today though. Too many new things.

And I already tossed the pot, poop!
