getting out of the hobby for awhile :(

This is why you are burning out.

Stop changing tanks and stocking. Pick a single tank, stocking and setup and stick with it for a while. The startup phase is the funnest part of the hobby, but also the easiest to burn through quickly and lose interest in if overdone.

I agree. It's best to just set up some sustainable tanks. African cichlids are great, but for the most part you need at least a 40 breeder. If you like the color and activity of mbuna, try going with something like barbs...I have some red glass barbs with amazing color, they are the centerpiece of my 55 along with rainbowfish, a red tailed shark, two killifish and a black paradise gourami.

They would definitely be fine in a 29 gallon tank, and you could still have room for some cories on the bottom :)

I've had periods of being really into all of my aquariums, and then other times they are just there in the background...but I would never want to get out of the hobby completely. At least you are keeping one tank going...don't sell off too cheaply any equipment you might need later! I've done that before and regretted it.

Exactly what most every hobbiest goes through no matter what the hobby .

I recommend you stick with the hobby for a few more months, don't change anything. Especially if you've put a big investment of time and effort into it. I'm not too into my tank right now, but I would never break it down and sell it. I know I will want to enjoy it again eventually, and as such am just waiting for that time. So yea, my opinion, stay in the hobby.

If you're burnt out, take a break but don't get rid of anything. You have been in it a long time to not miss it. Just pack things away and see how you feel about it a few months from now.

Tear down and store what you don't want to tinker with...... Don't sell. Sounds like you'll be back at it in no time!

yeah going to wait for april tell i move... then resetting up :) a friend that i am moving with and some others, want me to keep to keep the tank so we can make a nice display tank for the living room :)
