gf in with tetras

The goldfish won't eat the tetras if that is what you are wondering. From what I gather they pretty much like plant based foods...but most Tetras like really warm water and goldfish like it cool, so the warm water will shorten their life spans.

How many goldfish are we talking, and which breeds? Certain gf only like pseudo-tropical temps and will, in fact, die if not given those sorts of living conditions.

Also when Goldfish get big all game is fair game if a tetra is small enough to fit in its mouth they will go for it just like my goldfish did to some guppies I had in the past.

What type of tetras? Most of the ones that you can get for cheap are pretty well-bred and can withstand low temps fairly well.

I don't know how aggressive the tetras would be without info on which types, either.

I do know that fantails are pretty fragile, so I'd keep them to a single-variety species tank.

Would these be the fancier varieties?
(Sorry to butt in, but I'm doing GF in the next tank, and my room temps stay fairly high.)

They would be. The normally-shaped goldies, such as the Common, Shubunkin and Comet will take more kindly to lower temps than some of the fancier ones.
