In a one gallon tank would a betta eat a ghost shrimp?

he would probably nip at it and if the shrimp is shedding and dosent have a hiding space hes a goner.

He might make it if you had a dense clump of java moss or java fern in there. I keep 4 amanos in with a betta in a planted 5 gallon. They do well and the betta never attacks them.

Tiny freshwater shrimp. Very similar to ghost shrimp. They are supposed to eat algae. I assume they must as they are still alive after a few months. They are about 1/2 an inch long so I can't really get a good picture of them.

Dr Fosters I think. But online you generally have to buy them in lots of 50 or so, I belive. Many fish stores will carry them as algae eating shrimp.

Although they are VERY cool critters, many fish see those ghost shrimp as food. With bettas, I've noticed that I can control his territory with water current. They tend to stay out of a strong current, and hang out where the water is more calm.
In a small bowl, that is probably not much use to you. But look at it this way, ghost shrimp are cheap, and if the betta eats him, it's only improving his diet.

LOL I spose so. What other kinds of shrimp are there that are freshwater since I'm used to just seeing saltwater. And are there any tiny freshwater crabs? I pretty much just know about hermits for freshwater. Would adding java moss or anything be bad for my snail or would the moss not cut down on algae?
