i think the tanks i keep them in is fine,i use a gravel vac about 3 times a week but i do a 100% water change & scrub every thing in the tank.the place i bought my orange & my blue marble kept them in cups, litteraly cups, that made wal-marts size & cleanliness look good.& they were only about 1 inch full  theirfins were sticking out :( .i took one of the empty cups and filled their cups enough that they could move,so he couldnt even swim right when i got him home because he didnt have enough muscles since he couldnt swim in the 4 oz cups that he was in that were only filled halfway. there was already about ten dead ones  ,i went to the front & told the lady if she didnt chanch it iwould! she changed it,& i asked her how often they fed the bettas, she said once a WEEK  .so the tanks i keep them in is ok.read my other tread about ghost shrimp/bettas.

Feeding a betta once a week isnt a bad thing... Fish can survive up to 2 weeks with out food. Anyway, they dont feed them because people buy them and usually feed them themself.

The cups arent bad either.....for a short term. They can live in these cups for about 3 weeks before its a problem. They are used to living in small places, although un-recommended for home aquariums. So I think its pretty bad but its only until some one buys them :)
