Ghost Shrimp / Crayfish with Tetras can they survive ?

Skewed priorities combined with an inability (or refusal) to comprehend advice that's given is a recipe for disaster of some sort.

You're worried about shrimplets not surviving, but ignoring the fact that the crayfish WILL EAT YOUR FISH.?
It's not my crayfish it's my brother crayfish.. btw the crayfish only eat dead fish ! it's been since 1 week it didn't eat any live fish only dead fish..

Why did the fish die?

I've had crays for quite a bit longer. It WILL catch fish. It is just a matter of time.

Have you done *any* research on crayfish behavior? Ghost shrimp? Anything you've put into your tank?

In your initial post you said you were going to get crayfish or ghost shrimp... did you get any crayfish or just the ghost shrimp?

the tank is stocked already, and you will have your cories and crays occupying the bottom of the tank.

crays will eat fish, dying or dead are just an easier meal; The dwarf mexican crayfish will likely work better with fish but you will need better places for hiding, you need to do more than just break line of sight, caves, tunnels and the ilk are necessary.

Technically speaking, yes, crayfish only eat dead fish. Just as I only eat dead animals. Because hearing them scream as I chew is very annoying.

Hermit Crabs have a similar concept when it comes to real estate.

It is only a matter of time before the crayfish eat the fish. I don't care if they are yours or your brother's, they will catch them and they will enjoy them as a snack. It's only a matter of time, but certainly not a matter of will, because the crayfish are drooling over those tasty snacks I guarantee.

No offense, but this is kind of amusing. 1 week is not nearly long enough to establish that your crayfish will not eat live fish. How did the fish die? I would guess that the crayfish killed them.

You need to be more responsible.

Don't you get it ? Ghost Shrimp i did research i put it to my fish tank. Crayfish my brother didn't do any research about crayfish and just put it inside the aquarium.. and yes i've put some plant , gravel , fishes...

so i know this thread is dead, but i had to say that, from what iv experienced, you dont need brackish water for ghost shrimp to reproduce. last spring i added about 30 or so into my main filter *made from a 55gal rain barrel* and within about a month i had a couple hundred, by the end of the summer i was scooping out a couple nets full every week to feed my koi
