I bought some ghost shrip to feed to my lobster, and I noticed that one was acting a bit strange and had little black spheres hanging from him (her?) Is he (she?) pregnant? If so, I'd like to have the babies, so what do I do?

It's possible, if the black spots fall from the one try to collect them in a jar or move the one to a large canning jar and watch what happens
You sure you have ghost shrimp? Ghost shrimp eggs are green, not black, and she'll carrying them in her swimmerettes (little wee legs under her tail) for a long time.hobie237 said:

They are definately ghost shrimp. The dots are in the little swimmerettes. I'm not sure of the color. They're somewhere between dark green and dark brown. At first glance they look black, closer inspection they change color based on the lighting. Should I just move her to another tank? How long are we talking?
No idea. Mine are still carrying theirs and it's been at least a month. The eggs are light green, no way can they be mistaken for black or brown. Seriously.
There are other shrimp similar to ghosts that carry blackish eggs. How long have you had yours and how big are they?

I've only had the shrimp for about a day, they were supposed to be lobster bites by now. All I know is that they came from the ghost shrimp tank at the fish store. I chased the shrimp closer to the side of the tank and examined her with a flashlight, and under the brighter light the eggs do appear green. I guess they just looked dark by comparison, since they're under a clear shrimp who was hiding in the shadows on the opposite side of the tank.
