I have a few Ghost Shrimp of varying sizes along with 3 platies and 4 Zebra Danios in a 10 gallon tank. In my 20 gallon, one of my Black mollies gave birth to a coupla dozen fry. I'm keeping the fry in a net breeder.
The fry are about 2 weeks old and I was wondering if they were big enough to go into the ten gallon, so I put 4 in as an experiment, half expecting them to be fine the next morning and half expecting the platies to gobble them up immediately.
Here's the interesting part.
No threat from the platies, but within a minute of adding them, a big Ghost Shrimp (about an inch) swooped up and grabbed himself a fry. It took him about five minutes, but he gobbled the whole thing down.
Who woulda known?
