I just got some new ghost shrimp today and I was wondering.... should I feed them something else when they have plenty of algae to eat? If I think of any more questions I'll ask...

I have found that they eat anything you feed the fish. In fact, I am not sure what they don't eat. I think they eat less algae than other types.

Mine eat shrimp food and I also give them bottom feeder pellets to munch on.

While the term "Ghost Shrimp" is a generic term given to many similar looking species of shrimp, a good percentage of "ghost shrimp" found in the United States are Palaemonetes paludosus, better known as American Glass Shrimp.

These shrimp are omnivores and will eat just about anything you put in their aquarium. They are easy to care for once they are established, but because of their "feeder" status there is a high mortality rate with them.
