I have a few questions about ghost shrimp:

Are ghost shrimp hardy??

How many should i get for a 10 gallon tank?

Will mollies eat shrimp? (I'm guessing not)

Do they breed easily?

thanks

hit and miss as far as tehm being hardy.

All mine have died over the last 2 years except for one that is very healthy...

Molies will probably leave them alone.

They do not breed in fresh water (eggs won't hatch) although mine were often carrying them.

I'd have to dissagree with that. Out of the 8 ghost shrimp i bought 18 months ago, i now have about 25. Most of the baby ghost shrimp get sucked into the filter during there free swimming larval stage, and of the ones that don't, many starve because of a lack of micro organisims for them to eat, but they can and do breed in fresh water. Mine have.

they are pretty hardy.

return fish before you add anything to that tank.

if they are small enough, probably, but most are too big.

yes.

I believe there are both FW & BW ghost shrimp..this is why you have some that have babies in both types of water...If I remember right the FW will have pink eggs and the BW will carry greenish.
