What is the difference between ghost shrimp and chery shrimp? Does anybody here have both? I've only had ghost shrimp, and my betta ate them all. :(

Do cherry shrimp cost more? I don't think I've ever seen them for sale...

the biggest obvious difference would probably be color first and foremost. ghost shrimps are mostly transparent with some yellow spots on them. cherry shrimps are bright red. other than that, both grow to about the same size, with ghosts getting a bit bigger. both are omnivores and will consume algae and leftover scraps.

unfortunately, they don't have these shrimps in my area. just amanos, but they are pretty good.

If your betta ate your ghost shrimp it would eat the cherries. Full grow Ghost shrimp will be about double the size of an adult cherry. Cherry shrimp are a lot more expensive that ghost shrimp. At my LFS ghost shrimp are like 19 cents a piece (cheaper if you buy a dozen or more), and cherries are like 3.99 a piece.

from what i know it is all bout looks really when it all comes down to it, the only ones i can get here are ghost shrimps and they are 5 for 1.25 (if i am correct)sounds like i am getting ripped off lol

any way when it comes to my liking i would take the cherries over ghost (or other) any day

I believe cherrys will reproduce in fresh water. I have sceen my ghosts carrying eggs but never re-produce.
