I have a giant black upside down catfish... i was wondering if anyone else has one??

We got her at wal-mart, and was only sapposed to get to be a couple inches, but is not about 8 inches long!!

Mystus? Black upside down? I've heard the are very aggressive especially to conspecifics. They eat everything that fits in their big mouths. Not a good community fish but pretty.

Those actually mix pretty well with mid-size or larger cichlids like firemouths, JD's, or even Africans (in a tank larger than a 30 anyway.) I once bought 3 of them at Wal-Mart thinking they were a species of Synodontis. I ended up with 1 about a month later, and they were in a 55 with plenty of rocks and cover.
If you keep a large group (10 or more) the conspecific aggression gets spread around enough that no real harm is done. Oddly, not many folks with suitably large tanks bother with them though... :silly:

I have too many fish now, and really need to move some more out to make room for the L-134's and L-333's to spawn. Ask around on the MFK forum, that's where the folks with the big tanks and fish hang out.
