Give a Fish a Pat - 20g Reef

What a beautiful tank and fish...... I have freshwater fish that are that friendly its lovelly isn't it.......

what is that gorgeous thing on the right and after the fish pics? Is it a flower nem? Very pretty tank! (and I dream of moving to Australia some day! I have a friend here who is an Aussie and her hubby is working here for a few years. She tells me how wonderful it is. I love that her mum has a koala bear that lives in her yard.:)

Thanks everyone, its always nice to get some positive feedback on what you've worked hard on.

Its a Catalaphyllia sp of coral, also called an Elegance Coral. Fairly common (here anyway), hardy, low light coral. I chose it 'cause it kinda has an anemone look about it, and is known to sometimes act as a host to clownfish. Oh and we don't have koalas around here but there are a couple of wallabies and plenty of bandicoots living in our backyard :).

Great looking!

Very nice!

How long have you had the elegence? I'm not attempting one due to the dismal survival rates of where most suppliers around here get them (can't remember what area). They are beautiful.

I got it about 6 weeks ago, it was in my other nano until this one was stable enough so it could be moved over. I've heard the ones in the US can be hard to keep alive but over here they're considered a hardy beginners coral, many people have them. I got mine straight from the collector for $35AUS, the collector is called Cairns Marine and they ship Great Barrier Reef corals + fish all over the world. They had a whole section of a shallow tray / table tank covered in elegance corals. The guy there said they collect them from the bottom deeper down and are used to relatively low light and murky conditions, he also said they will just swell up in size to get more light.

My next coral is probably going to be a Duncanopsammia I think, common coral here but I've read they're expensive over there, that true?
