Below is my 20 gallon tall that I have my five yellow lab fry growing out in. They are ready to sell so now I get to stock it up! Post recommendations here (plants can always be added and the rocks could come out if need be also)

i would go with 5 cories, 5 or 6 neon tetras (or other small placid tetra), and a betta for a centrepiece. that'd be a nice tank without overstocking. add another sword plant or two and it would look great!

They dig well and they will take advantage of your rocks and sand.

Anything in particular you are interested in? There's a lot of options.
there are so many options, it depends upon what you are interested in, throw us some ideas or thoughts or things that you like and we can get started

Personally, I feel like you should go off the beaten path (but maybe you don't wanna do that, its your tank after all lol) and do some puffers or fresh water gobies or something lol

Yeah I'm not a fan of neon tetras and the usual suspects. I have thought about south American puffers as they are 3" and peaceful. Gobys would be interesting don't know much about. I also do love Bettas but if there is something funkier you guys can think I'm all for it.

What about adding a few escargot shells and keeping Tanganyikan shell dwellers? Or you could go with Bolivian rams or other dwarf cichlids. The limestone is probably raising the pH quite a bit of South American cichlids, though.

I'm a big fan of cichlids personally. Hillstream loaches are cool but I feel like they're kind of high maintenance, and in need of a larger than 24" tank...although a mildly brackish setup with knight gobies or bumblebee gobies and some kind of wild guppy like swamp guppies or painted guppies, would be awesome :)

Yeah I thought about Rams and also tangs. My other tank is a Mbuna tank.
The sand also creates a high PH so I have to keep that in mind.
