Does anyone know if any companies sell glass aquarium lids for a 50 gallon? If not does anyone have any DIY info for this? Thanks!

What is the tank footprint? 48" x 12"?

Knowing if it's a marineland or aqueon tank will help as well.

You can have a glass shop cut you some glass or plexi for lids, but mail order lids can usually be had reasonably. Way cheaper than store prices.

I'm not sure what brand it is, but it's 36" x 18"

I believe those dimensions are the same as a 40g breeder tank. I'd look online for a 40B lid.

Does is have a center brace? That might be the only hitch..

No it does not

Looks like DrsFosterandSmith has 36"x18" Aqueon Versa Tops on sale for $20.99

Marineland is $30.99.

Lots of other mail order sources as well.

Thanks!

I had a "home-made" 48 inch rimless tank that needed a top. My local National Glass cut a perfect lid & rounded the edges so I'd be safe... for about the same price as a "not quite" right size lid. Measure very carefully to within 1/16 inch or less & shop around. Not all tanks are standard, mine wasn't, but the results were great.

Make sure to leave a gap along the back for heaters, filters, hoses, etc..

Yep, I had planned for that! But thanks!
