Hi. I have some hard water spots on my tank's outside. Is it safe to use Windex on the outside of the tank? And what's safe to use on the inside? (The spots are currently on all of the empty tanks.)
the best stuff to get it off is vinegar. I don't reccomend using any sort of chemical close to the water vicinity, though I do use dish soap to clean my aquariums outside glass.
I also use Windex on the outside of my tanks and have for years - just make sure you spray it on a paper towel away from the tank. No issue to use on the outside - and no its not going to make it through the Glass i am not sure who told you this.
i also use windex or whatever cheap glass cleaner i may have like stated b4 just spray it on a paper towel away from the tank. u can also use a mixture of vinegar and water sometimes if i am outta windex i'll mix up a quick batch
Instead of windex, I spend 4 times as much for a very small botle of what is probly the same darn thing, only made by API. Yeah, it's prolly nuts but it makes me less nervous about it.
I have that Holy Cow cleaner (pink bottle). It's supposed to be all "natural". I use it to clean around my dogs but I could probably use it on the glass. Not sure it'll work like Windex though.
I saw that glass cleaner online. It was 12 bucks per bottle! I just couldn't afford it.
