I inherited a 29 Gallon aquarium awhile back. I have a California Kingsnake in it now, but I'm building the snake a bigger vivarium. I wanted to use the aquarium for some tropical fish now. The problem is there has always been a white discoloration all around the top half of the aquarium. I'm not too sure what it is....I think it maybe calcium. I tried to clean it with vinegar(not sure if this would have worked on it or not) but it didn't work. When the white part gets wet it looks like it's gone but, when it dries it comes back in the same place. Any ideas what this could be and how I can safely get rid of it?

Mike
