Glass or Acrylic???

You've opened up a whole big can of worms....

My experience is limited, but I would say that I prefer glass tanks; they're easier to keep looking nice, simply because they don't scratch as easily as acrylic and you can clean them with most any cleaner instead of fancy acrylic cleanser. I also like the way glass looks; glass and acrylic in good condition are about equally clear, but they have slightly different looks to them.

However, I have never worked with glass tanks in the 200 gallon range, only acrylic. There may be some problems with big glass tanks that I don't know about.

I am looking into getting a large tank...around 200 gal.... what do you guys think is better.... glass or acrylic??? And pros and cons for having one over the other???

Watch my lips!

I spent a ton of $'s for a 110G Tenecor bow front 30" deep acrylic tank and aquarium.

Never again!

Glass tank with a glass sump the next time (which will hopefully be like 500G and which I will cause to be fabricated).
