Thanks to everyone for all the good advice! I'm going with glass for now, mostly because we have several cats with all pointy equipment intact who LOVE to check out the aquarium. (My small acrylic tank has a few teethmarks here and there.) But I'm keeping my eye out for an acrylic replacement for the day they lose interest in the fish.
