Glass or Acrylic

Do you know how much that stuff costs?
It sounds REALLY expensive! :O

Cheaper than acrylic. ;)

As for plywood/acrylic tanks, I dont like attaching acrylic to other materials. Silicone does not bond to acrylic well at all, I prefer using glass.

Is it adviseable to sit an acrylic tank on a 1" section of polystyrene so that it's sitting truly flat, such as is recommended with a glass tank?

Thanks

Andrew

The price difference between acrylic and glass tanks usually lessens as u get bigger. To a degree. I'd do acrylic. Moving it, once its not used and in storage, you'll be happy its not glass. Peace of mind.

No.
Most glass tanks are supported by the edges.
If you got a small, empty glass tank, flip it over and look underneath.

I prefer acylic over glass in big tanks b/c of the safety aspect. Glass is just way too brittle.
