I was thinking of getting an acrylic top for my 75g. This may be a dumb question but would there be any difference in the light diffusion or ability to handle heat for an acrylic top verses glass? I know it can scratch easier but I want something lighter.

Thanks

Eventually the acrylic becomes diffused whereas glass will remain clear. Weight really isn't a problem due to it's distribution on the trim. It isn't all that thick or heavy.

Glass, or topless.

Good to know... I just made an acrylic tank and suffered the consequences. LOL. Will get glass cut next time around.

on the flip side.. acrylic is a better insulator.

I prefer glass myself..
I have an acrylic tank....HATE IT....

i was going to say that someone did a good job on that small section of skin hanging between thumb and forefinger making an acrylic top....hows the hand man?

i vote glass.
