Glo Zebra $5.99

i saw them

for the fisrst time at my lfs they arent dyed they look lie reg zebras with a pinkish tint

I have also seen the Glo fish and not that impressed with it. As many have remarked that the glo isnt that fantastic, its only visible on the top and bottoms of the fish. The owner of the shop that had them wasn't very impressed either. It was an expensive fish for something (with out the glo) sells at his shop for 60 cents. He stated this might be his only shipment that he will get on them. Unless, I assume, demand warrants it.

I'd get some for a new tank setup I'm going to be doing in January, but I live in California, where it's "against the law" to sell them...

...But it isn't against the law to buy them out of state and move back here/bring them back here with you...

.............Hmm..... Can you think were that's going to lead? :D

;)

P.S.- I like Zebra's a lot, and I think they're beautiful fish... Even if these aren't "super glowing fish" that flash like a neon sign, from the pic's I've seen they look pretty.

I saw them here in Cincinnati at the local LFS close to 10 days ago when I picked up a couple fish to cycle my tank. Look cool under a blacklight but not $5.99 cool. (They wanted $4.97 each for them btw) They are not injected but rather genetically altered w/a gene from a jelly fish. See www.glofish.com for more info.

wow mankind has made there own fish. whats next genetically altered clown loaches ? with reversed colors:eek:

Have some here in Findlay, Ohio at Pet Supplies Plus. Not very impressive color and are made sterile so no one will breed them and go into competition with the inventor.

i wouldn't pay that much for any zebra...it's a high price for a small fish that you need a bunch of to look good and be happy. of course, i guess they would school with the regular ones. nonetheless, a goal of all my tanks has always been looking as natural as possible in a glass box.

anyways, they've had them at my LFS in gainesville for weeks.
