Glofish with blackmoor?

Sorry for the short post. Am at work and was on a quick break.

My blackmoor is about 4 months old and is in a 40 gallon tank and was hoping to get a Glofish for his compainion. I can't really seem to find an answer whether or not they are friendly to eachother. I dont want the glofish to nip my blackmoors tail or worse, eyes.

Are they able to live in peace with eachother?

Yep a glo-fish will tolerate cooler temperatures just like zebra danios. It would be better to get your glo-fish some companions.

I have goldfish with black moors. They are friendly towards each other but there does not seem to be a lot of friendship. They kinda ignore each other. The 2 black moors will sociolize(spell check) amongst themselves and the gold fish do their own thing. But when it comes to eating time the goldfish are more quick and will compete with the black moors. It seems that the black moors struggle a lot to eat since they are slower ansd have poor eye sight. I have also noticed that there might be some nipping at the moors tail when the goldfish wants to get around them. More like a "Get out the way" thing. But they do seem to be peacefull since none have been injured. But to get your black moor a companion I think it should another black moor.

glofish do best in a school, i'd say at least 6 of them

Yay! That makes me happy! I just got my blackmoor a friend(red cap ornando - think that's spelled right) and will be getting a glofish or two. I don't really want to get two glofish since I've heard they breed kind of alot? Is that true? I dot want a tank full of glofish like you get with guppies. Which is my main reason for only wanting one. Can glofish eat the same food as blackmoors? I feed my moor bloodworms every now and then which I know the glofish will like, but for flake food is that ok?

Thank you all for the respones!

If you get a glofish, you need 4-5 more glofish for them to really be happy. I've heard glofish breeding, but not as gast as guppies.

Glofish or goldfish? Black moors would still be goldfish.

Hey everyone,

So i have gotten a glofish, seems like petulla is doing fine with the blackmoor and the red cap ornando. Only thing is petulla stays near the top of the tank while the other two fish stay on the bottom. They sometimes go near each other and dont fight so thats good.

But one other question, the red cap ornando has fin rot(which i just started treating last night) but seems like it is not very active(also stays near the top which is recent). Should i be worried?
