Some fish ARE dyed. There are two types, the engineered ones, and the cruelly acid diped and dyed ones. There are also some types that occur naturally.
 
As has been stated many times in this thread, they are genetically modified zebra danios, and should be cared for just like regular zebra danios. They'll be ok in the 10 gallon with the guppies. With only 3 of them in a 10 gallon, they may harrass your other fish a bit, but they don't do any real damage.

They do like to be in a bigger group and have more space. If you can manage it the future, they would be happier in a 20 long with more zebra danios.

I have 2 of the pink/red glofish in my 60 gallon with 2 longfin zebra danios, and 3 longfin gold zebra danios. I like the contrast of the 3 different colors as they chase each other around the tank.

I don't know what kind of huge nose you have, but something the size of a dime would just barely fit the opening of mine.

Yes I'm quite aware of that as I happen to have 2 painted indian glassfish but we are discussing Glo-fish which are not dyed, infact these fish were created many years ago to the point now where alot of the Glo-Fish you buy were born like other fish, they had 2 glo-fish parents who spawned them and they retained the particular color. Who knows how many generations of Glo-fish were born naturally and just inherited the color from their parents?

Besides if we can't genetically alter natures creations into more enjoyable forms then what the hell are we doing here?

And as a proud supporter of adding laser beams to a sharks head I approve of RWilliams' post.

Oh and I also like Dwarf's idea, I have a hamster cage that could definately benefit from a pack of dime sized monkeys.
 
Oh so you are one of those "ooooooh pretty fish people." I knew what THIS thread was about, I'm done with this topic, I answered the OPs question in a civil manner, and I'm not against genetic modification, but I am aganist people who support a process with an over 80% mortality rate for "prettier fish."
 
I have my reasons for getting the painted fish but since you do infact now share my opinion on genetic modification then we're still friends.

the genetically modified fish were to study and understand the health of waterways. you know, the things that keep a lot of other things alive.
would you allow 1000 danios to die if it saved a family of deer, a squirrel, and a badger? i would.
